¡HOLA! Soy la Señora Mariana Mathews. I am so fortunate to be the lead Spanish teacher at LBCS. My focus is MYP Spanish as well as collaborating with the PYP Spanish teachers.
I’m originally from Córdoba, Argentina. I grew up living and traveling in Latin America and Spain and finally settling in Orange County, CA. I obtained my Bachelor’s in Spanish as well as my Teaching Credentials and Master’s in Education at UCLA. I taught in Los Angeles and San Juan Capistrano as a dual immersion Spanish elementary school teacher. Then I took a teaching break for the past years to raise and educate my boys. I currently reside in Granite Bay with my husband, Robert, my two amazing teenagers, Sebastian and Lucien, and our ‘loca’ pup Jojo!
Every year we find new and creative ways to engage and immerse our students in the Spanish language and culture. Our goal is to share our passion for our native countries as well as open a window for students to engage the world and grow their global perspective.
