Welcome! My name is Kim Dietz and I absolutely love being part of the Loomis Basin Charter School family. I have been actively involved in the Charter School since its inception (with my daughter Taylor), and I am currently beginning my 11th year as the MYP 7/8 science teacher. I couldn't imagine a better place to be both professionally and personally. I love seeing students and staff learning, laughing and caring for one another, their community and the world around them!
My husband Steve and I live in Granite Bay with our dog Gus. We are "beginning empty nesters" and enjoying our new freedom, but still always looking for ways to connect and hang out with our kids! Our son Matthew lives and works in Portland and our daughter Taylor is currently entering her junior year at Point Loma Nazarene University. Steve and I love the outdoors and doing anything active. I also love a good book and music of all kinds.
I am looking forward to sharing my love of science with all of the students at LBCS. My goals in the classroom are to challenge students to do their best and grow as learners, encourage them to be risk takers and inquirers, and to foster a fun and safe learning environment.
