Mrs. Sam Mashinchi - 5th Grade Teacher

Hello!

I am so excited to be part of the Loomis Basin Charter School family. I started teaching in 2010 in Washington D.C. at an IB candidate school. After teaching in D.C. for five years, my husband and I moved back to the west coast. I taught in San Jose for a year and then joined LUSD at H. Clarke Powers in 2016. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Human Communication, as well as a Masters of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education.  I have experience teaching students at many different ages and love what kind of learners they are at each level!

I was born and raised here in Placer County, California. After college in Oregon, I moved to Washington D.C. for my Masters and teaching credential. My husband and I moved back to California, and now live in Auburn with my husband and two sons. Outside of school I love to spend time with my family, gardening, exercising, and reading!

Teaching is truly my passion, I come from a long line of educators and have wanted to be a teacher since I was a kid. After my own experiences as a struggling student, I recognized the impact a caring, enthusiastic educator has on students. I hope to be this teacher for all my students.
