Mrs. Andrea Affleck - Art Teacher
My name is Andrea Affleck (like Ben) and I am thrilled to be a part of Loomis Basin Charter School! It is a gift to work in a profession that I love each day and to meet, teach, and grow with wonderful students each year.
I grew up in the Roseville/Granite Bay area and have recently come back to make it home once again for myself and my family. I completed my undergraduate degree at UCSC, earning my bachelor's degree in Fine Art. I went on to spend several years in Manhattan and Brooklyn and returned to California to complete my teaching credential at Sacramento State. During this time, I met my wonderful husband, Nate, and we since have had the joy of welcoming three beautiful children into our life; Audrey, 8, Madelyn, 7 and Leo, 2. We have also recently added a rather rambunctious and ridiculously lovable goldendoodle named Maple into our crew! We love to travel, spend time outdoors, garden, do massive home improvement projects, ride bikes, eat ice cream and create lots and lots of crafts.
I have loved Art since I was two years old and it continues to play a central role in my life. I paint in my (very little!) spare time and especially love oil and watercolor. I believe that Art is an avenue for children to grow their creativity and to become skilled in self expression. I love to see children find joy in the process of making something uniquely their own. I can't wait for the school year ahead!
