Mr. William Maerdian - Music Teacher
Hello, my name is William (Billy) Maerdian and I am excited to be the new music teacher at LBCS! I was born and raised throughout Northern California and in 2016 I graduated from CSUS with a bachelor’s in both music and business. I’ve been teaching privately and in public schools since 2013 and am thrilled to be a gateway to music and the arts for your child. In my time as a private teacher I have worked with kids as young as 3 all the way up to adults in their 50’s. As a public school teacher I have worked at Country Day School (5th-12th), Galt High School, Leo Palmiter Jr/Sr High, and Mira Loma High School as a music specialist and band director. Music has been proven to benefit students cognitive, social, and physical abilities and I have witnessed this firsthand. It also has the power to expand their creativity and develop innovative skills which are needed in the 21st century. Being a musician has taught me valuable life skills which I am inspired to pass down to future generations.
My hobbies beyond music include spending time with family, friends and my dogs, mountain biking, motorcycle riding, hiking, and snowboarding.
Outside of LBCS I also teach private piano and drum lessons at the Music Lab in Granite Bay. If your out on the town at night you may even catch me performing live with an array of groups and musicians from the Element Brass Band to RC Swing Orchestra, Water Bear, the Jane Thompson Trio, Runaway Stage Productions, King QuarTut or many others. I also recently worked for Millennia Media as a production team member building world-class recording gear that are used by artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Bob Dylan, Herbie Hancock, Rihanna, Gotye, Disney Motion Pictures, and many many more.
I look forward to meeting you and your child!
