Mrs. Jennifer D'Antonio, 1st Grade Teacher
My name is Jennifer D’Antonio and I’m so excited to be joining the Loomis Basin Charter School community this year! Teaching is an absolute passion of mine and I enjoy every moment in my classroom. Every year brings something new and interesting. It’s an amazing experience to take part in the process of our young children growing and learning. I embrace our challenges and celebrate our successes. I love to see how each child discovers the world around them.
I’ve been in education for 18 years. For the first 5 years of my career, I was an instructional aide for an educational program, specializing in supporting students diagnosed with Autism. After graduating from Sonoma State University, I got my Teaching Credential. I’ve been an elementary school teacher for 13 years now. I taught a k-1 combination class for 1 year, 2nd grade for 3 years and 1st grade for 9 years. In 2015, I earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and an Administrative Credential. This was truly one of my biggest accomplishments! I’ve also had extensive training in arts integration and am eager to share my knowledge and skills with the staff, students and families at Loomis Basin Charter School.
About a year ago, I moved here from Petaluma, with my husband, Jonathan and two daughters, Katie and Lauren. My husband owns a business and was able to move his business location to Placer County, so we could be closer to family. My oldest daughter, Katie, will be in 2nd grade this year at Loomis Basin Charter School and my youngest daughter is 4 years old and in Preschool. We have a dog named Daisy and a cat named Ace. My children, pets and classroom take up most of my free time, but some other things I enjoy are playing soccer, going for walks, photography and scrapbooking.
I’m looking forward to a year full of fun, learning and lots of adventures! I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us!
