Kari MacTaggart
Hello, my name is Kari MacTaggart. My husband and I are twenty year residents of Folsom. Our two teenagers attend Vista del Lago High School. As a family, we enjoy time together on our boat, visiting our extended family in Minnesota, and anything to do with our dog, Gracie.
The 2009-2010 school year will mark my thirteenth year as a classroom teacher. About a decade of my teaching experience was in the Rocklin Unified School District. After starting a family, I opted to “stay home” to spend time with my children. During that time, it was remarkable to nurture and share in their experiences, volunteer where needed, and take on various leadership roles in our community. For the past three years, I have had the opportunity to teach students in the fourth grade at Empire Oaks Elementary School in Folsom. Along with engaging students in a rigorous curriculum, I thoroughly enjoy cultivating a caring learning community that respects unique personalities, provides opportunities for resourceful kids, and welcomes thoughtful ideas.
I am so pleased and honored to have the opportunity to join the LBCS community. Someone wisely said, “A mind once stretched by a new idea never regains its original dimensions.” Here is to a year of tremendous growth for all of us!
